What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra is a lying down, guided meditation. It is a deeply relaxing therapeutic technique.

Yoga Nidra is also known as the yogic sleep or the divine sleep. It is the state between waking and sleeping, similar to the ‘going to sleep’ stage. It is among the deepest possible states of relaxation whilst maintaining full consciousness. The practice is similar to a deep sleep whilst you remain awake.

Benefits of the practice:
It is a highly effective and gentle relaxation practice, known to reduce tension, anxiety and stress symptoms in the body, whilst developing a deeper mind-­‐body-­‐soul connection through presence and awareness.

What will happen in this class?
Each class will begin with some gentle breathwork practice and yogic warm ups. You will then be invited to get comfy and cosy lying down on your back and covering yourself over with blankets and placing on the eye pillows. You will then begin the practice of yoga nidra as you are brought on a guided meditation through the body as you relax, release and renew.
